My Map displays the past, present and potentially the future of art education. In the bottom section there are elements of history such as the Massachusetts Normal Art School, Chapman’s American Drawing Book and documentation of various art inventions. It also includes a juxtaposition of visual culture due to its influence in how we perceive art and the world around us. In addition, art materials, media, and helpful information is included in this section. Everything in this section is accompanied by a written explanation. In the middle section the focus is art history, various artists and art movements. The four visuals presented are recognizable and influential paintings. In the top section there is a juxtaposition of facts, events and movements within our culture and art education. Therefore, all three sections define what art education is to me
